New Soundpacks: Multi Effects, FM8 Synth Sounds
The the two soundpacks I’ve been most excited about became available today. FM8 Transient Attacks is a new set of 200 synth sounds for FM8 and Kore’s morphing powers, and Deep Transformations is a multi-effects sound shaper. I’ve been looking forward to Deep Transformations in particular, as it takes the soundpack series in a new direction – not only to instrument presets, but with an eye toward making Kore an effects workstation.
FM8 Transient Attacks
Whereas some of the previous soundpacks have drawn from the existing libraries of instruments in Komplete, FM8 is really a new creation. It couples the FM8 engine’s synthesis capabilities with Kore’s Morph Square and Sound Variations features. And if you do own FM8, you can go in and edit the sounds directly. Now, we did hear from a couple of you who do want to create your own FM8 sounds but were a bit puzzled when working from scratch, so we’ll have to revisit how to do that and see if we can’t deconstruct some of the work in Transient Attacks.

Deep Transformations
Deep Transformations is really a departure in that it’s all effects combinations rather than instrumental sound presets. Kore’s own internal audio effects are included, of course (the NI developers tell me some of them are really different from anything previously available, even in Reaktor). But the Absynth, FM8, Guitar Rig, and Reaktor engines also make their own appearances (expecting quite a bit of Reaktor, in fact). Effects included:
- FM Sound Generator
- Talking Ring Modulator
- Artefact Creator
- Enveloped Distortion
- Formant Delays
- Vinyl Effects

Does anybody know if it is possible to only get Kore2 without the controller? I’m very interested in the environment but not the whole package with the controller. The free kore player does not allow you to modify patches. The Kore2 Demo is more what i’m looking for, it would be cool if I could just activate that at price lower then the whole package. Anyone have any insight to this?

If you have Kore 1 you can purchase the software only update. Other than that, I don’t think it’s really possible unless you get lucky on ebay. I’m not sure what Peter allows in these posts but I’d be willing to part with my Kore 2 software at a pretty reasonable price.

@virgil — you’ll see in NI’s FAQs for authentication that you’re allowed to resell licenses, so that’s kosher. Basically, I allow open, respectful discussion here.

@Peter - Long time there Pete. You’ve turned this into one hell of a site here. I figure you wouldn’t have a problem with me offering to help another user but I figured you probably didn’t want us wheeling and dealing in the comments
If he gets back to me I’ll try to move the discussion to the forums or IM. It is pretty easy to transfer liscenses through NI though. I think I’ve transfered probably 4 Komplete Packages and the odd number of individual instruments. Thanks for the quick reply though, for the fantastic site, and I’ll be sure to start contributing again very soon.

im very interested to see what people think of deep transformations. I still have my coupon and have been waiting for something like this. Why its $20 more (and you have to pay it even with the coupon) I would like to know, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
